Freehand Profit goes Up In Smoke…

Before Jay and Silent Bob or Seth Rogen and James Franco there was Cheech and Chong. In fact if it weren’t for the insanely funny and trail blazing comedy routine of Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong movies like Pineapple Express and Mallrats may never have been made. Last May, just a few weeks later than the anticipated 4/20 release, Nike honored the pot smokin’, wise crackin’ comedy team with their own shoe. The ever popular SB Dunks were fashioned with red bandanna and corduroy to tribute their iconic head wear. Even crazier is that the toe of the sneakers can be scraped away to reveal a fuzzy green felt bearing a striking resemblance to everyone’s favorite herb. Check out NiceKicks.com for more info on these insane kicks.

This piece can be seen at the Pancakes & Booze Art Show open October 21st and 22nd. This will be the first oppurtunity to purchase the mask, otherwise the mask will go up for auction on eBay on Monday October 24th. Like all masks from The Branding Wars, this is a 1 of 1.

Continuing my work through The Branding Wars (click to see more) series, featuring gas masks made from your favorite shoes and handbags, the Cheech and Chong Nike SB Dunks became the newest piece. Big thanks to my good friend Julio for modeling this piece on his birthday!

Wanna get your hands on the Cheech & Chong Nike SB Dunk Gas Mask? Here’s your chance, bidding started at 6:00 AM PDT October 24th.

Click to check out the auction.

And you know I had to make sure my smokers got their interests at heart, or lungs rather. So yes, this sneaker gas mask is also a gas mask bong.
