When I first started making sneaker gas masks during MASK365 masks were made in a day (or close to it). Over the past 6+ years the work has progressed by leaps and bounds. Themes and concepts are more prominent, my craftsmanship has been held to a higher and higher standard, new techniques, materials and equipment have all improved the art as it should. But it also begins to push my work further and further from the hands of the average collector. And it can be very tiring working months and months on project without a finishing a piece – artists are as prone to instant gratification as anyone y’know?
“So what’s the solution?”
Get loose. Using affordable sneakers, limiting my time frame and restricting my techniques to the basics. And so I did. With just a single Fire Red 3 and basketball noseguard I built this mask as a study, a freestyle – something smaller scale. And it’s for sale! Hit the ShopFreehand.com or the link below to snag a one of a kind sneaker mask by me, Freehand Profit, and at a fraction of the cost.
The 2nd shoe has also been made into a mask which will be the next resin mask to release – for those of you who are looking for a Freehand Profit mask in the $250 price range.
