No.90: Infrared Air Max 90 Gas Mask
When you need something fresh, grasp for Air. – Freehand Profit
Happy #AirMaxDay 2015 everyone! In celebration of the timeless Nike silhouettes designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, the world laces up their favorite pair of Air Maxs. Being that 2015 is the 25th anniversary of one of my personal favorite shoes – the Air Max 90, I chose to finally give the Infrared AM90s the mask treatment.
The Infrared Air Max 90s Gas Mask features a custom cast glow in the dark infrared nose piece as well as a custom Freehand Profit hangtag made by @nikenate21. The mask is made from 2 pairs of Infrared Air Max 90s, 1 kids size & 1 adult size, it is also my 90th mask – which explains why I waited as long as I did to finally chop & remix such an iconic pair. This mask was created for friend & fellow sneakerhead photographer @freezyfreeky. Click here to find out how to get a mask yourself.
You can see the Infrared 90 Gas Mask in person! This weekend in Cleveland, Ohio at the world’s greatest sneaker show – SneakerCon! I’ll be there in person with the goons from 8 and 9, showing my art, meeting folks and doing a Live Chop (a deconstruction of a pair of kicks for a mask right before your eyes). I’ll also have lace locks and collectibles from the Freehand Profit shop on hand, even 1 offs, Samples & Exclusives. Don’t forget to grab the @sneakercon x @8and9 x @freehandprofit tee, available only at the show. Check out this recap of SneakerCon Ft. Lauderdale via 8and9.com to see what you’ve been missing!
Special thanks to @betsyvandeusen & @sebastianbleak for their help making this shoot a success. Ever since we shot at the abandoned LA Zoo, Betsy has been researching and stockpiling abandoned places for future mask shoots and the Sunken City in San Pedro was only 45 minutes away. A beautiful site and one hell of an adventure, check out the gallery below to see for yourself:
