Reebok X BAIT Question Gas Mask and Charity Art Auction

BAIT in Diamond Bar has had a stellar year for sneaker collabs. Some of you I’m sure have seen the Wolverine mask I made from a pair of their Asics “Olympic Rings” pack. They were generous enough to donate pairs of their Reebok Question Mids to my creative process so that I could create and photograph a new mask to be auctioned off as part of the “Fresh to Death” charity art auction.

Betsy VanDeusen and I photographed the BAIT x Reebok Question mask just hours before the “Fresh to Death” opening. We shot it at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego, it was the location of the Puma x Sneaker Freaker “Bunyip” photo shoot. Although you’d never guess it because there’s so many seemingly different environments in one place.

The mask, like the shoes, features black suede and patent leather complimented by artificial snakeskin and glow in the dark elements. Special thanks to Charlton who helped laser cut and etch the lenses as well as extra parts which I used to mold and cast custom resin parts.

“Rosewood Gallery in San Diego hosted “Fresh to Death”, a group show put together by Rosewood San Diego and Freehand Profit. Featuring artwork from @freehandprofit, @char_l_ton, @romtheworld, @marsartist, @betsyvandeusen and @christobarart. It featured a variety of work from the artists based around the theme of “Fresh to Death”. The show opened Saturday (Dec 14th) to a great reception, we also asked folks attending to donate toys/art supplies/clothes & shoes to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of San Diego. Each artist also donated a piece of artwork to be auctioned off with the proceeds going to Invisible Children Inc as well. Rosewood San Diego and Freehand Profit along with the other exhibiting artists would like to thank everyone who showed their support and made donations. It’s a real pleasure to be able to bring folks together around the passion for art at the same time as doing some good for the community and our extended community around the world. The fact that everyone had a great time is an excellent added bonus. Thanks again! If you missed the opening, the work will be on display at Rosewood in San Diego through February 15th. If you’re not able to make it to the So Cal area don’t fret, you can still do your part by placing a bid for our charity art auctions.”
