This mask was made from a single pair of Nike All Star Dunk High QS 2012. It was part of the ‘Crossing the Line’ exhibit at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington DC in April 2012 and went on to tour with Sneaker Pimps for their 10th Anniversary Tour. It has also appeared at Art Basel 2012 in Miami.
The All Star 2012 Dunk Hi “Galaxy” Mask has been a favorite among fans of the work. Here’s an excerpt from the original release on April 2, 2012:
“We all saw the lines of campers for the Galaxy Foamposites but in my humble opinion I think the “2012 All-Star” Dunk Highs stole the show . That may be because I’m a huge fan of Dunks but these shoes are such a great design and I know these will look even better with wear. With the NASA and the Kennedy Space Center inspiration behind the shoes I knew I had to make a mask from a pair. The Rogue Green was the right choice for a gas mask.
